Hello everyone~ I promised to have something done by the end of the month, and I very nearly kept my promise! It didn't seem appropriate to me to upload non-halloween art on halloween, so I waited a day (cough-it-had-nothing to-do-with-me-screwing-up-2-paintings-and-taking-forever-to-churn-out-something-decent-cough)
This particular piece was inspired by the wonderful work of Brian Froud, I just recently bought his World of Faerie and I'm sooooo in love with it, I absolutely had to paint a faerie of my own.
This is for =jisuk's 2008 Calendar project, there are some other really great artists involved and all the proceeds will go to charity! Go here for more info.
Another good thing came out of this painting as well, I found some tools in Painter X that I can almost control properly They include the Acrylics Captured Bristle, and a couple Blenders (just add water, and a grainy blender that added some lovely textures).

Awesome! I love her face, and the colors and subtleness of it all. Her dress and wings are really cool.
I think her arm could use a little more definition, though.
That book sounds intriguing, I'll have to take a look!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
