Artist's Comments

Another practice trying to get myself used to oil paints. I've found doing quick 8x10 paintings to experiment is extremely helpful and very fun :D

I wanted to try doing high contrast and bright colors, I wasn't sure if I could achieve the same bold colors traditionally as I can digitally but... I can! I did some bright color washes underneath, I think they helped.

I'm off to the art store today to get more colors as my current oil palette is kind of limited. Oil painting is so fun! I think I may look for some wood panels or masonite at the art store so I can do something a little more finished than a sketch on canvas paper :D

The past is history...
the future is a mystery...
But now...
Now is a gift, appreciate what you have.
And that is why it is called the present.
